myCNAjobs announces the launch of a new employment guide to assist professional caregivers to better leverage social media channels.

A growing number employers are now actively using social media channels to make recruiting decisions, including healthcare companies.  And although the healthcare industry lags slightly behind in this growing trend, caregivers seeking caregiver and CNA jobs must take note.

“It’s essential for caregivers to keep their social presence in mind, especially during times of active job searching  - almost everything is visible to potential employers,” says Trevor Jones, Recruitment Squad Manager at myCNAjobs.

65% of employers say they check social channels to find out if the candidate presents him/herself professionally while 45% say they view it to learn more about the candidate’s qualifications. Both of these can have big implications for CNAs and caregivers as employers specifically look for professionalism and quality when hiring CNAs and caregivers.

“Since social media is becoming more transparent in the job space, we’re trying to help CNAs and caregivers polish their online presence to help and not hinder their job search,” adds Jones.

The newly published article offers advice to eliminate inappropriate or compromising pictures from Facebook, maintain a blog to showcase talents, properly leveraging Twitter, and keeping a creating and growing a professional presence on LinkedIn.
